Working to help improve conditions at the orphanage and school through infrastructure work, informal educational session including art, drama and sport or building a chicken coup to help provided an extra source of nutrition.
In Kerala, the TEA Project works directly to support an innovative community orphanage built within a 3.5 acre site in the Wayanad District of Kerala. It provides a caring and supportive home for around 50 orphaned children and young people. The orphanage is a community village where older children care for younger children, i.e. helping with education, dressing and washing.
An International School has also been established on the 3.5 acre site. The school provides primary-medium English education for approximately 300 local children including approximately 30 school aged children from the orphanage.
