Project le Monde
Improving schools and educational infrastructure and access to educational materials.
Project le Monde provide underprivileged communities in Uganda with good quality school buildings, significantly improving the educational experience and life prospects of thousands of children. They also look to provide scholastic materials such as books, pens, pencils, writing paper etc. With a school in Kyengera complete, they are now looking to build their second school in Gombe, 2 hours outside of Kampala. It is a school of 350 pupils and is in great need of better buildings and improved facilities.
Examples of projects:
Working with local staff and local community members, you can assist in the improvement of educational facilities in Kampala, Uganda. You could help to fund and build Project le Monde's second school; building classrooms, offices, kitchens etc. There is also an opportunity for informal teaching, games and sports with the local children.
We include a 2 day safari to the world famous Murchison Falls National park, where you will go on safari for lions, leopards and elephants and take a boat cruise right up to the Falls themselves.
You will be staying in basic but comfortable accommodation. The accommodation consists of mattresses/beds in an un-used house, or a local guest house – with a local cook and guards to look after the team.
